Welcome

Hello, I’m Fernanda Espinosa, and I’m so glad you’re here. Let me take a moment to share a little about myself and my journey. I work as a psychoanalyst, clinical philosopher, and trauma-informed psychotherapist. My path began with a BA in Philosophy, followed by a master's degree in Clinical Philosophy. From the start, I knew I wanted to work with people and support mental health, but traditional psychological models didn’t resonate with me. I sought an approach that avoided categorizing individuals into rigid boxes, and clinical philosophy offered that open, non-judgmental perspective. For many years, I worked deeply within the framework of clinical philosophy. However, after the birth of my son, I decided to step back and dedicate time to him. During this period, I began exploring alternative therapeutic methods. That’s when psychoanalysis, particularly the work of Lacan, captured my attention. While clinical philosophy provided a valuable foundation, I realized it had its limitations. I began to notice that my clients' unconscious drives played a pivotal role in shaping their behavior—something narrative alone could not fully address. To explore this further, I pursued a master’s degree in psychoanalysis. After completing my studies and undergoing my own personal analysis, I encountered something profound. Despite all my introspective work, certain physical symptoms persisted—signals my body was sending me that couldn’t be resolved through talk therapy alone. This led me to explore the connection between trauma and the body, inspired by the work of Gabor Maté. I trained in Compassionate Inquiry, which helped me better understand how somatic experiences and trauma are interconnected. This integration of clinical philosophy, psychoanalysis, and trauma-informed somatic work has profoundly transformed my practice. It has allowed me to tailor my approach to each client, recognizing that no single method is universally effective. I blend techniques to meet the unique needs of every individual. My work is grounded in compassion, empathy, and a deep commitment to supporting you as you navigate life’s challenges. Whether you’re facing trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, or simply seeking deeper self-understanding, my aim is to empower you in your healing journey. Together, we’ll create a safe, non-judgmental space where you can explore your emotions, gain insight, and foster meaningful personal growth. I look forward to walking alongside you on your path toward healing, connection, and self-discovery.
